Getting Divorce
An elderly man in Phoenix calls his son in New York and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough.
"Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams.
"We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the old man says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her," and he hangs up.
Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this."
She calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at the old man, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up.
The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife.
"Okay," he says, "They're coming for Thanksgiving and paying their own fares ...
Now what do we tell them for Christmas?

Potassium

Potassium in nature occurs only as ionic salt. As such, it is found dissolved in seawater, and as part of many minerals. Potassium ion is necessary for the function of all living cells, and is thus present in all plant and animal tissues. It is found in especially high concentrations in plant cells, and in a mixed diet, it is most highly concentrated in fruits.
In many respects, potassium and sodium are chemically similar, although they have very different functions in organisms in general, and in animal cells in particular.
Potassium cations are important in neuron (brain and nerve) function, and in influencing osmotic balance between cells and the interstitial fluid, with their distribution mediated in all animals (but not in all plants) by the so-called Na+/K+-ATPase pump

Escherichia coli

that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms (endotherms). Most E. coli strains are harmless. some can cause serious food poisoning in humans . Harmless strains are part of the normal flora of the gut, and can benefit their hosts by producing vitamin K2, or by preventing the establishment of pathogenic bacteria within the intestine. They use their tails or flagella to move . E. coli was discovered by German pediatrician and bacteriologist Theodor Escherich in 1885.
Rice Wine Dessert

During fermentation yeast interact with sugars in the juice to create ethanol, commonly known as ethyl alcohol, and carbon dioxide (as a by-product). Rice brew typically has a higher alcohol content (18-25%) than wine (10-20%), which in turn has a higher alcohol content than beer (3-8%). Easy rice Wine Dessert: This dessert is sweet and with a taste of white wine.

Hand Washing
In the 1840s childbirth fever, a bacterial infection of the female genital tract after childbirth, was taking the lives of up to 30% of women who gave birth in hospitals. Women who gave birth at home remained relatively unaffected. As assistant professor on the maternity ward of the Vienna General Hospital, Semmelweis observed that women examined by student doctors who had not washed their hands after leaving the autopsy room had very high death rates. Many hospitals found his theory absurd and disaproved of him Ironically he after a breakdown, he entered a mental hospital in Vienna, where he died of an infection contracted during an operation he had performed. he has Alzheimers. Did he forget to wash his hands?

Why do We Have Fever?

Our body temperature is regulated by the hypothalamus, which contains a thermoregualatory control center that coordinates skeletal muscle shivering and the activity of the sympathoadrenal system to maintain body temperature at about 37 degree C. The bacteria contains endoxin a lipopolysccaharide that stimulate monocytes and macrophages to release various cytokines that act to produce fever, increased sleepiness, and fall in the plasma iron concentraton. The fall in plasma iron concentrations that acompany a fever can inhibit bacteria activity and represents on possible benefit of a fever, it also increase activity of neutrophils and increased production of inteferon. Our body produce three major types of interferons: alpha, beta, and gamma interferons. Almost all cells in our body make alpha and beta interferons. these polypeptides act as messengers that protect other cells in the vicinity from viral infection.
